The API 535-LA is a line amplifier modelled on the classic 325 console module, offering 6 dB to 45 dB of gain with balanced input, polarity switch, 20 dB pad, and selectable output levels. It adds warmth and control to digital sources, keyboards, mixes, and gear without onboard level control.
API 535-LA Line Amplifier
The API 535-LA Line Amplifier is based on the classic 325 line driver modules found in API consoles, offering both amplification and attenuation of audio signals while delivering the signature API tone. It is designed to add warmth, punch, and control to a wide variety of sources, making it ideal for warming up digital signals, enhancing keyboard setups, adding colour to mixes, and managing playback or outboard gear that lacks its own level control.
The API 535-LA features a balanced input, polarity switch, and a 20 dB input pad for managing hotter signals. A three-position output gain switch allows users to select different transformer-driven output levels, ideal for driving long balanced cable runs with minimal distortion. With an output gain range of 6 dB to 45 dB, the API 535-LA offers flexible control over both subtle and more pronounced tonal shaping.
Built with API’s discrete 2510 and 2520 op-amps and custom transformers, the API 535-LA maintains the warmth, reliability, and sonic consistency that define API products. Like all API modules, it is hand-assembled and backed by a 5-year warranty.
