The Gainlab Audio Lieutenant is a monitor controller and studio command station, offering precision relay-based volume, multiple inputs and outputs, cue and talkback facilities, and a configurable power sequencer.
Gainlab Audio Lieutenant Monitor Controller
The Gainlab Audio Lieutenant is a professional studio monitor controller designed to act as the central hub of modern production environments. More than a simple source selector, it provides comprehensive control of monitoring, routing, cueing, and power distribution, making it a true command station for the studio.
It features four selectable input sources: two balanced stereo analogue inputs, one digital S/PDIF input, and one Bluetooth connection. These can be routed to three balanced stereo analogue outputs, with output levels adjustable manually or automatically to ensure seamless transitions between speaker pairs without volume jumps.
A relay-based volume control ensures precision, while functions such as Pad, Mute, and Focus provide further flexibility. The Focus function allows users to isolate specific frequency ranges (low, mid, or high) for critical monitoring.
The Lieutenant also integrates a Cue loop with its own headphone output and a built-in talkback system, along with a dedicated master headphone output. Adding to its versatility is the onboard power sequencer, which manages the studio’s electrical supply across three independent segments.
This ensures that connected equipment powers up and down in the correct sequence, preventing damage and streamlining workflow. The system is fully configurable, allowing users to tailor the startup and shutdown process to their own studio setup.
